Yes, there really is a Penny Lane

Hi, I’m Penny Lane. Yes, that’s my real name. And no, I’m not an owl . But over the past 20 years, I’ve accumulated a lot of wisdom about accounting and how to get the most out of QuickBooks®.

I’ve been a Certified QuickBooks  Pro-Advisor since 2006, and I am one of the few to have attended live Advanced QuickBooks Training with Intuit™  twice.   For over a decade I’ve been teaching people how to use QuickBooks. My students include business owners and their bookkeepers as well as seasoned accountants.  My knowledge is based on many hours of professional education and  over 10 years of intense hands-on bookkeeping and consulting experience working with all types of businesses.  I have a real passion for QuickBooks and for helping other people learn to love QuickBooks too.

My Mom Linda and I own an  accounting firm called Business Matters in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California.   I was born and raised in the Napa Valley and worked in the corporate accounting world for the first part of my career.   When my daughter Hanna was born in 1998, my husband Ian and I decided to move to Nevada City, California for it’s beauty and to be closer to my family.    In this small town, I discovered there were a lot of small businesses that needed my accounting expertise, and that I loved helping them!  The rest, as they say, is history.

QuickBooks is a great program. But it’s not easy to learn on your own.

It can get pretty complicated. That is, unless you know some of the tricks I teach. After seeing some of the problems my students have had learning QuickBooks®, I decided to create my own QuickBooks training tutorial. I wanted to:

• make it easy to follow for beginners and experienced users.
• share some of the special tricks I’ve learned over the years.
• make it truly interactive — this is by far the best way to learn
• make it affordable
